Laser therapy is effective in the treatment of skin conditions, mouth and ear infections, arthritis, soft tissue injury, post-surgical pain, and various other conditions. Treatment is totally safe, painless, and requires no anesthesia. It works by stimulating the production of cellular energy in impaired cells and enhances the permeability of the cell membrane. Simply, this promotes faster and higher-quality healing, increases nutrient and waste exchange across cell membranes, and enhances elasticity of damaged tissues.
Therapeutic effects are achieved by using specific wavelengths of light during treatment. These therapeutic effects include faster healing time, reduced pain, and greater circulation and less swelling.

Levittown Animal Hospital is always looking for new ways to provide patients with unbeatable clinical care. That’s why our medical team is proud to offer Cryotherapy as an advanced, alternative treatment for pets!
What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a non-invasive and non-traumatic technique that effectively treats an array of skin conditions without the need for anesthesia or traditional surgery. This makes the treatment process much less painful for your pet and affordable for you! Cryotherapy effectively treats skin disorders such as tumors, cysts, growths, and skin tags, and can also help treat certain cancers.
What To Expect
We are highly trained to perform Cryotherapy. Treatments are performed with a CryoProbe, which is a modern instrument that freeze-dries problem areas on the skin. The extremely cold temperature of liquid nitrogen freezes nerve endings so pets experience minimal discomfort during treatment and afterwards during recovery.
Treatment sessions typically take five minutes, and are recommended once a week until the mass or growth diminishes in size or falls off. In most cases, by the second or third treatment, significant progress is made. The number of treatments depends on the severity of the skin condition. Our medical team will work with you to devise a treatment plan that is best for your pet.
Treatment Benefits
Pets of all ages and health statuses can benefit from treatment. It’s important to address abnormal growths and skin conditions early on to prevent further infection and complications. Thanks to Cryotherapy, treatment and healing is a breeze.
