AAHA-Accreditation
Levittown Animal Hospital is proudly accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Demonstrating our commitment to the highest standards of veterinary excellence, this distinction is shared with less than 15% of animal hospitals in the country and is recognized worldwide as the benchmark for superior veterinary medicine.
Since the early 1930s, veterinary professionals have been writing and refining specific standards for veterinary practices. As the veterinary field continues to progress, AAHA’s standards are updated accordingly to ensure all benchmarks are reflective of the industry’s developments and AAHA’s philosophy. Although a number of standards advance with the times, AAHA’s mission has remained unchanged: to offer veterinary professionals with resources to effectively manage their businesses and deliver the best in companion animal care.
AAHA Accreditation is not a one-time achievement. In fact, AAHA routinely checks in on us to ensure our hospital continues to comply with the association’s distinguished standards of care. Evaluations are stringent on over 900 individual standards and divided into 18 major sections. Considering all facets of superior pet care, AAHA’s areas of focus include: patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education.

What is Low Stress Handling
Low Stress Handling is a collection of handling techniques designed to minimize patient stress and maximize veterinary efficiency. Based in behavioral science, these techniques help calm anxious patients, making the entire treatment process easier and safer for the animals and people involved. In order to earn the title of a Low Stress Handling Certified hospital, Levittown’s staff completed a comprehensive training course on Low Stress Handling techniques and methods. We took the time to earn this certification because we see great value in creating a stress-free environment for every patient that walks through our door.
What Does This Certification Mean for Me and My Pet?
